JASG safety team member Rex Yip has won the Safety Proposal Competition in the Airfield and Baggage Hall Safety Campaign 2017 held by the Airport Authority.
Rex submitted a comprehensive proposal featuring short term and long term objectives which are the development of an Airport Safety App and an Apron Automatic Transport System respectively.
The app concept is not only practical but interactive. All airport employees can login the app with their Airport Restricted Area Permit number to receive various kinds of airport information which include the latest security risks and prevention methods. The app also welcomes companies and employees to share their safety thoughts and tips.
For the Apron Automatic Transport System, Rex suggested a full automation of the freight of ULDs between warehouse, Baggage Hall and parking bays by a autopilot system, and the autopilot system can be extended to the freight between all GSEs (including conveyor belt, FMC, etc.) and aircraft positions.
Rex Yip from JASG Safety Team is the champion in the Safety Proposal Competition.
